BCIHS announces 299 new units
BCIHS is thrilled to announce our latest project on Expo Blvd., a dynamic 29-storey rental building in Vancouver’s False Creek North neighborhood.
This building, operated by the BC Indigenous Housing Society and designed by Public Architecture, will feature 299 units committed to enhancing community living and affordability.
Housing Breakdown:
- 🛏️ 20% of units at shelter rates ($500-$1,140, based on family size)
- 🛏️ 50% of units at subsidized rents for incomes at or below the B.C. Housing threshold
- 🛏️ The remaining units at below-market rates to ensure more affordable options in the area
This initiative is part of a transformative land transfer agreement, aiming to foster inclusive communities right in the heart of the city. Stay tuned for more updates as we build a future where everyone has a place to call home.
S.U.C.C.U.S.S. Gala 2024
2024 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. GALA held at the Westin Bayshore, Vancouver raised funds to support essential S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Programs including mental wellness services for youth, women, refugees, and families.

September 30th - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for all Canadians to commemorate the history and legacy of the residential school system.
It’s a day to honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors and remember the children who never came home. It’s a chance to engage and educate people about colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities.
RFIPQ - Indigenous-owned residential property maintenance services
The purpose of this Request for Information and Pre-Qualification (RFIPQ) is to find Indigenous-owned residential property maintenance services firms/companies/organizations that could be invited to respond to a detailed subsequent negotiated request for proposals (NRFP).
Frances Building Redevelopment
The project entails the redevelopment of an existing three-story building, which previously offered 27 affordable rental suites for urban Indigenous singles and families and is currently under construction.
A new look with a new name
The name change from Vancouver Native Housing Society to BC Indigenous Housing Society (BCIHS) coincided with a rebrand for the organization. The previous logo, colour palette, and type identified the organization since its inception in 1984, but the time was right to give the not-for-profit organization a modern look and feel that aligned with its new direction.
Panel discussion: the changing face of real estate
Recently, Bosa Properties held an all hands employee event that took place at the Vancouver Convention Center, and one of the most talked-about about sessions was a panel discussion titled The Changing Face of Real Estate.
The panel was moderated by Dea Knight, Development Director at Bosa Properties, and featured three prominent figures from the world of real estate: Stephen Jagger, co-founder of addy, Lucas Epp, VP and Head of Engineering at StructureCraft, and Brenda Knights, CEO of the BC Indigenous Housing Society.
